They probably won't like this because they (the Gamester Family) have always been sort of private. But... I am sure some Prayers for Mary Gamester would be appreciated! Many Know her as "Grandma Gamester", Grandmother of Russ and George. She is 93 years old, and has been admitted to the Hospital in Peru, very ill.

For those that have been around a while, you know what an amazing woman she is, and has been deeply involved in this sport for well over 35 years!! The amount of races she has attended over the years, first with her husband as a long time Midget owner, on through all of Russ's career, has got to be staggering! All the while being very supportive, and doing anything she could do to help the family operation. Tough, witty, and very sharp.. I have personally always admired her, and consider her my 3rd Grandmother! Here's to hoping she pulls out of this!:greenflag:

I have exchanged greetings with "Grandma Gamester" at the races for a lot of years. We will keep her in our prayers.

A quick update:
Did I mention she was tough?
There has been a slight improvement. While she still can't function very well, she has (strongly) indicated she wants out of the hospital, and wants to go home.
In need of round the clock care, home isn't a good option, so it looks as though she will be sent to a nursing home. But, in true Grandma Gamester fashion, she is fighting that idea as well !
