Outdoor/Indoor Points Championship Announced
Peru, Indiana- Rumble In Fort Wayne promoter Tony Barhorst has offered a unique points chase for competitors of the 600 cc Outlaw Modified Winged Midgets. It will be a points championship to determine the best all around driver on an outdoor dirt this summer, and on the concrete indoor track of the Rumble In Fort Wayne Memorial Coliseum Expo Center this winter.
The points chase will commence over 4 race events. Two outdoor dates at Miami County Speedway , Peru, Indiana will be a part of the series. Those dates are Saturday, July 3, and Saturday, September 11. The two Indoor dates will be held at the Rumble In Fort Wayne on Friday, December 31, 2010, and Saturday, January 1, 2011. There is a possibility that one more wild card outdoor event may be scheduled in the fall.
NEW UPDATE: The points will go to the DRIVER in this series, It is NOT mandatory that you run the same chassis both outdoors and indoors. You MAY run two different chassis for each. Of Course cars must follow Miami County Speedway rules when competing there, and follow the dirt car oriented rules of the Rumble In Fort Wayne when competing at that venue
The 2010 Rumble In Fort Wayne indoor rules are listed here:

The points fund will pay these amounts to the top 5 finishers in addition to the regular event purses:
$550 for 1st
$350 for 2nd
$250 for 3rd
$200 for 4th
$150 for 5th
The points system that competitors will follow for the chase are from the Miami County Speedway regular season. I understand that the July 3rd event at Peru will pay DOUBLE points for their track championship. The system we will use for the four races will award single points as follows:
Heats-----10,8,6,4,2,1,1,1
B Main---30,26,24,22,20,18,16,14,12,10,8,6,4,2,1 remove transfer cars from list and pick up points from there. Example--if 5 cars transfer start remaining cars with 18 points, do not give transfer cars points unless something happens and they do not start the main.
A Main----70,66,64,62,60,58,56,54,52,50,48,46,44,42,40,38,36 ,34,32,30 Miami County events are based on 20 car field Max cars to run in Main is 22-- if you run 21 or 22 cars just drop 2 points per car from 30. 16 cars will start each day at the Rumble In Fort Wayne events.
" It is my intention to showcase the Outlaw Modified Winged midget dirt drivers indoor at the Rumble In Fort Wayne even more. This points chase is a start of something that could really grow."
