NEW DIRECTION FOR RACE MANAGEMENT OF ANGELL PARK SPEEDWAY

The Board of Angell Park Speedway announced today they have entered into discussions with a group of private investors to assume management of all racing operations at the famed facility. The negotiations are targeted for race activities only, and do not impact other events including Mounds Pet Food Warehouse Dog Fest 2010, Sweet Corn Festival, car shows, or weddings.

During this time, scheduled weekly Sunday night racing sanctioned by Angell Park will be suspended until further notice. This decision does not impact previously scheduled special events such as the USAC National Midget Series when the tour visits Angell Park.

The next scheduled racing event will be the USAC National Midget Series as they make their 2010 debut at Angell Park on July 3rd and 4th for a 2-day holiday weekend event. The August 28th and 29th USAC National Midget Race and the September 4th Fireman's Nationals remain on the Angell Park calendar for 2010.

"It is the desire of Angell Park to continue our rich tradition of Sunday night Midget racing" stated Les McBurney, General Manager of Angell Park Speedway. "We are excited about the possibility of securing a new partnership which can continue to bring great racing events to Angell Park."

Angell Park Speedway is owned by the Sun Prairie Volunteer Fire Department and has hosted midget racing since 1946, and remains one of the country's oldest continuing operating race facilities.

The Board of Angell Park Speedway would like to thank all of the loyal fans, car drivers, car owners, and sponsors that have supported Midget car racing. Questions about any Angell Park events can be directed to Les McBurney, General Manager, at 608-837-5252 ext. 22 or via e-mail Angellpark@spwl.net

Something fishy for them to do this in the middle of the season. Guess time will tell.

I warned you people a long, long time ago that this was going to happen and nobody listened OR is listening. When is everyone going to wakeup regarding the direction of midget racing. Because a couple people in command can't get along is not the heart of this spreading problem. This decline started back in 1999.

They refuse to accept reality. How can ANY smart businessman feel that the product currently offered makes sense? There is NO argument. Can't believe it! Don, I hope you are one of the "investors"!!! Maybe you and KO can save midget racing! 8" hard tires...250-275 HP!!!
