So was a 360 win on Saturday night good or bad for the Bandit series? Can it ever be good for a 360 to win a 410 race?

Why would it be bad? The guy that won is a damn good driver, who had a very good running 360, at a track he group up racing on.. But I dont see how it could be a bad thing no matter what the circumstance..

It was probably a good thing for future car counts.
When Steve Segal won a winged 410 race with a 6 cylinder it didn't hurt racing or sell any 6 cylinders:2: |

A WIN..Good or bad, I don't know...BUT...I would bet Rilat has as much money in that 360 as most non wingers have in their 410's...The question is...is THAT, good or bad....

Tim Crawley was the driver who won with the 360. The car Rilat was in is different from the 29 car that he normally runs with the ASCS.

Who cares what is under the hood, Crawley won a sprint car race. Do you think 95% of the fans in stands cared what was under the hood. They saw a good race.
The All Stars are still around and a 360 won a race against them at the Ditch a few years back. |

Not only do they not care, but they probably can't tell the difference on a small track.
Tim Crawley and owner Mike Ward both have a lot of laps at I-30. SPD 37 |

I have seen many 360's win at MTS shows, even had a couple 305's run well with us. The first two championships were won by 360's. But that's on the short tracks 1/4 to 3/8ths, anything bigger and 410 takes over. Gregg Dalman did win on the 1/2 mile at I-96 but he's got great 360 motor too.

I think the bigger deal this weekend is that two Winged racers won the TNT Sprint Bandit races.
