When we started running with USAC in the late 70's, 305 was the C.I. limit.

One of the tracks near Okc is starting a econ non-wing class. Engine rules are basically a stock type of motor rule. From asking around I would expect 10 to 12 to start this class.

---------- Post added at 10:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:41 AM ---------- That's good to hear. OK has a 3 other limited sprint series too. The URSS runs 305s with a different spec head, the NCRA runs the Racesaver head and around Tulsa there is a 2bbl sprint series. |

Here's an interesting announcement I saw on Lone Star Speezone - We have decided to start the 305 Racesaver Sprint Car Series in the Houston area in 2011.We will start running exhibition races as soon as we get 5 or 6 cars. The class will be non winged with a hard right rear.We are putting together a points fund and sponsor package just as we have for the mini sprints. We already have agreements with 105 ,Gator,Battleground and Texas Thunder Speedway(when it opens). To run the series along with our non winged Mini Sprints. This class is being built to be a stepping stone between the mini sprints and the ASCS Sprints. Its for the guys wanting to move up to a sprint car from or those who have them but cant afford to run ASCS series full time. When the class is up and running it will be some were in the range of 4 to 500 to win, 100 to start the main and 50 non qualifiers.when we started EMSA we had 8 cars already this year we have 52 drivers that have reserved numbers. We hope to make this class as successful as our mini sprint series has become. We are in this to benefit the drivers and the sport everything made by this series goes right back into the drivers pockets. All the officials are volunteers. If your want anymore info or have any ideas feel free to contact me at 832-921-6043.We would like to see this class get off the ground its done very well in other parts of the country. thanks John Coyle (http://www.emsaracing.com) |
