Kennedale TX (3/6/10) by DarinShort.com. Please click www.CowtownSpeedway.com for pictures, video, results, recaps and much more from night one of the Cowtown Midget Championships sanctioned by USAC/SMRS, Mod Fast 50 sanctioned by NCRA and the ASCS2 Series Opener. And more results will be posted at the site when they become available.

Nearly 200 cars filled the pits to complete capacity and the midget feature was over before 10AM.

The Cowtown Midget Championship feature saw a wild battle with first-ever Cowtown visiting driver Danny Stratton and Missouri's Brad Loyet swapping the lead several times using the entire racing surface, bottom to top until disaster stuck with around 10 laps to go.

With Loyet and Stratton setting a torrid pace, the wheels of Loyet and local sprint/modified ace George White hooked, sending White into a series of tumbles off corner two, and Loyet to the pits with a flat tire.

Loyet would rejoin the tussle at the back of the pack and climb to incredible 4th place as the balance of the feature race went green, white, checkered. Stratton would go on to win a well deserved victory.

The top five finishers of the 3/5 Cowtown Midget Championships feature: Danny Stranton (IN), Don Droud Jr. (NE), Zach Daum (IL), Brad Loyet (MO), Kevin Ramey (TX).

In Mod Fast 50 news, a huge field of teams assembled, with three qualifying features required to set the stage for today's championship feature.

After Friday nights three qualifiers were complete it was John Allen, Clyde Dunn, Jr. and Tim Clonch who took home the fifteen lap feature victories and guaranteed themselves a spot in Saturday nights $2,000 to win feature finale. Complete race results for the NCRA division are now available, click: http://ncraracing.org/ModifiedSouthResults1a.htm to review them.

Right at 100 ASCS2 teams hit the Cowtown dirt for the first time in 2010 and their results will be posted at the track website when they become available.

Today's track schedule is as follows:

I see your point.

Overall it reads like a pretty good show. Much better than a foot of snow like earlier. It nice to see Stratton win it too! Good for him!
