I noticed that their website has been updated, and it said they are welcoming the non-wing sprints. I can only hope they mean on a weekly or somewhat regular basis. They also mention the MSCS returning, so they could be talking about that. The link to the actual schedule won't go through. So now I am all excited and don't know what is going on. Does anyone have the skinny?

You know how rumors go, so take this for exactly what it is: a rumor.
I heard Friday evening over in Indy that there may be regular traditional sprint car events at Morgan County (Jacksonville) this year. Perhaps the promoter saw that Vermilion County (Danville) was beginning to get traditional sprints established there until the promoter change this past fall. This was from an Illinois driver who has raced at Morgan County in the past. |

When I was there, even though they might need to get the hang of the kind of track prep they need to do for sprint races, I liked that place a lot. Nice bleachers, facilities and a good local fan base. I'll be back there, again.

I do know the June 6th race is a double header with the POWRI midgets and the MSCS cars
Outside of that I haven't heard of anything else in teh way of sprintcar races that are confirmed there but I have seen the schedule for Spoonriver Speedway and there are no 410 shows on there besides the Knowles Memorial on September 12.5. Morgan County may not be having any more 410 shows besides the Herb Barlow Memorial on September 12th. Keep an eye on www.mscssprints.com becasue they will be releasing a schedule here in the next week or two and that should confirm if they are doing more than one show there. |

The way I read it the non-wing sprintcars will be there on a weekly basis. I had heard a rumor a couple of weeks ago about them running non-wing sprintcars on a regular basis.
