He was born Jan. 29,1925

He also was a chief mechanic on several cars at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He served on the USAC board of directors between 1961 and 1970. and was on the safety board and a variety of competition commissions.

contributions to Midget car racing.

Bob attended his last race this past Dec. at Fort Wayne, In.

We have a tribute to Bob on www.rumbleseries.com. I was just thinking...a photo/scrapbook of Bob's career would be something I would love to see...can you imagine the times Bob had with the roster of drivers he worked with?....He told me" they were like family." Hey photographers out there..post some stuff from Bob's career on this thread.

A few years ago on a trip to Belleville, we visited the Hall Of Fame there. The first person Jim Morrison and I ran into there was Bob. I said.."Good to see you..you would be one that we would expect to see in a midget Hall Of Fame." We had a chance to sit on the bench there and chat...very cool.

I have a couple links:

This post is from before Fort Wayne, when Ronnie Mclean payed tribute to Bob with a special paint scheme on his car at Fort. Wayne.
