Okay Jerry here we go...
I started in quarter midgets as a child (age 4) going to Kokomo Quarter Midget Club and making laps behind my older brother and sister. At age 5, I started competing in competition.(This is the time I meant Jim Whiteside...( little did we know our paths would cross again 30 some years later) we used to race together... I beat him all the time...lol just ask him???...:rolling

I won several area and local races as well as regonal and central state races. I had the pleasure of racing with Dave Darland, Tony Ploughe, Jeff Donelson, The Potter Boys,Jim Whiteside, and several others.) I set the Indoor track record when the quarter midgets raced indoors with the midgets at the Indianapolis State Fair Grounds Coliseum. Jim Hettinger raced my car that year and blew the doors off of all the other midget drivers that participated. My time that year indoors was faster than half the midgets qualified. In 1976 I retired from Quarter midgets after winning the Grand Nationals in Huntsville Alabama.(age15) I was waiting until my 18th birthday to pursue a career in one of my dad's midgets. Whom was being occupied at that time by my ex-brother-in-law Mack McClellan and Jerry Weeks. I became pregnant with my first child and that ended my racing career... so I thought. Shattered dreams and a total let down for my father. (how-ever my son has brought much joy to my life)
In 1996 my Wonderful dad Paul Bozard gave me another chance to purse a racing career. I began to race Mini-sprints. I really enjoyed the heck out of it. I liked to think that I was very competetive and an influence for women. I had alot of success. My son was burned badly in 1999 at US 24 Speedway while we both were competing together in a race and he nearly lost both legs from his burn injuries. He continued to spent many of weeks in the burn center in Cincinnati Ohio. That ended my career completly.
I still have much love for racing and would encourage anyone to try it once. It was a great experience and the some of greatest memories I have. The racing family is definetly a very close, loving and geneorus group of people.
Bye the way I Enjoy Ice cold one's as well......:thumb:
