"Clauson' s Turkey Night victory pushes "The Bullet" into NMDOTY Points lead "
Two final races set for Canyon Speedway Park Nov. 27-28

Irwindale, Calif., Nov.26---Bryan Clauson's dominating victory Thursday Night in the 69th annual Lucas Oil Turkey Night Grand Prix has moved the Noblesville, Ind. driver into the lead for the 2009 National Midget Driver of the Year Championship. Clauson now holds a 51-point lead, over Brad Kuhn with two events remaining.

Clauson driving the Marc DeBeaumont owned Beast/Ford-Esslinger#11 led 57-laps of the event held at Toyota Speedway @ Irwindale. Kuhn was involved in an accident on lap 12 and retired from the event finishing in 28th position. Despite Kuhn's finish he wrapped up the USAC Mopar National Midget Series title.

The final two events which will determine the NMDOTY Championship will be the Friday & Saturday Night Nov. 27-28 events at Canyon Speedway Park (Peoria, Ariz.). The Sands Chevrolet Southwest Championships will feature midget racing sanctioned by the AMRA, along with non-winged 360 sprint Cars, and mini sprints. Several point possbilites can occcur depending the total car count for the event, leaving the door open for Kuhn to possibliy win this third career NMDOTY Championship shouldClauson falter in both events.

Kuhn's primary car owner RW Motorsports has clinched the Car Owners Championship. Arizona's Alex Bowman increased his lead in the Design 500 Racewear Rookie of the Year standings to 82 points over Caleb Armstrong.

What a great year for both drivers ,we were able to see 2 drivers who should not be at this level (shame on you Nascar@INDYCAR owners). If you take one away from midget racing this yr one could say that the other would have had the most dominate yr in the history of midget racing. The difference this yr between these 2 drivers could be summed up like this Bryan was a more dominate driver on pavement and at the bigger races @ Brad was a consistant top performer all yr long. Thank you Bryan and Brad for the GREAT RACING .

I agree with this 100%. We're very fortunate to live right here in the middle of the battleground, that these two guys went at it, on. And as great as each of these guys are, they always step it up even further, when the other is around. It's obvious BC's not into getting beat by Brad. And Brad's hellbent on not losing to BC. Kind of an Ali-Frazier effect. Midget racing is is good hands, as long as everybody else is trying to get to the level these two are at. Bryan Clauson and Brad Kuhn could have ran with any driver, not matter what era you're talking about.

Also, I would like to give Gapinski his props for for a well thought out points system. There are great midget drivers in different regions of the country. This system provides a great way to compare drivers, against other drivers, that aren't able to run every race of the series that each primarily runs in.

Brad Loyet won the 1st night at Canyon, I think there were only 14 or 15 cars there.
