I went to the Big Island Circle Track in Hilo and the Hawaii Motor Speedway on Ewa Beach (Oahu) when I was in the Air Force. Both were 1/4 mile dirt and ran sprinters. I'm not sure if they are still running or not.

There sure wasn't any tracks there in the very early 1970's. Be sure and visit the USS Arizona Memorial while you are there.

I just got back from Oahu and Kuai last week end. I was in honolulu and asked about racing and no one knew of any except street racing. I did not go to big island so can't say for sure there.

As of 2 years ago they had weekly or semi monthly sprint car racing at a very small ( 1/5 mile) dirt track. The arizona non wing group went over there 2 years in a row for a challenge against the locals. I think when they do their weekly deal they run wings and they used to run smaller motors with carbs on em but they may have evolved a bit since the mainlanders started coming over. Seems like one of the Frietas brothers over there won both years when the mainlanders came over.
