Thanks to Z-man for getting this started... I thought I would take it a little further... I am open to any and all of your ideas.

We can nominate, then we can have official voting. I was thinking of doing the nomination process until November 30th... and then on December 1st the official voting will begin and last for 10 days. What do you think?

Again, I am open to your ideas... I don't want to this to be all about my decisions... I want to this to be more of a IOW community decision(If we can come to such a decision)

I have created a forum for all members to vote for there nominations. Each category has some lists, and any member can add to the list by simply clicking on the "Add Write-In Vote" link near the bottom of the poll list and then type in the name you wish to add.

Right now, I only have a few awards listed... Driver of the year, Promoter of the year, Track of the year, and Announcer of the year...

Please feel free to expand on that list... just make sure you check the "Allow Write-in votes" checkbox before submitting the poll. I am sure some of you will want to vote on best track food, etc. and etc....

You can start voting here... https://www.indianaopenwheel.com/forumdisplay.php?f=40

Let me hear what you have to say....

Sounds great Bill. Thanks for allowing us to participate and add to the process. Your time frame for voting sounds good to me. I just finished voting so I will be waiting and watching to see who the finalists are. This site continues to get better and better. I appreciate all you do for us addicts of open wheel racing.

Mike

Be nice to people on the way up. You might need them on the way down. Jimmy Durante

How about a sportsman of the year award and a Most improved driver catagory.

for the teams who would loan a car to a driver in a run for a championship or a big race And for those former rookies that became heavy hitters, Boat, Gullick and Williams to name a few.

One other though would be a Event of they year among the tracks in the track of the year catagory. Four Crown? LBurg Nationals, Kokomo Clash. Dick Gaines Memorial, Darland Memorial, Hulman and many others.

Also, Thanks for making this happen. Id really love to see prizes given to the winners, If only ribbons or something. I'd chip in 20 but need a mailing address .

Other than the USAC Live, This is the type thing that keeps this sport interesting in the off season

I go with Photographer of the year. A lot of great photos grace this site, plus all the racing publications.
