Today is a very hard day for me and a lot of AZ racers. Rick Stewart out of Phx. passed away after a battle with colon cancer. Rick built a lot of midgets in the 70's and 80's; cars he built won the Belleville midget nationals 2 times with Dave Maines and Mark Passerelli driving. Rick was entered into the AZ racing hall of fame last year and cherished the honor. I worked with Rick for over 20 years and he was a big brother and absolute rock for me. I will miss him terribly. Arrangements are pending.

My thoughts and prayers are with Rick Stewart's family and friends from the Az. racing community. I know first hand what it is like to loss your Dad to colon cancer, hope the Stewart family can find comfort and peace through their cherished memories of Rick at this difficult time.
God Bless,
Patti

In the mid 90's, Rick opened his shop to us multiple times at very late hours so that we could repair crash damage and compete the next day at PIR. We had a standing joke for many years that we had a reservation at his shop each time we traveled to Phoenix to race.
God Speed my friend.

I spent lots of time in Rick's shop when we raced at P.I.R. He was quite the fabricator. Danny Drinan worked out of there back in those days. R.I.P.
