Why in the world would USAC schedule a Silver Crown race and Midget race on the same day. Seems to me that would take alot of drivers from both divisions.

Last night's race at Belleville involved the drivers who are doing double duty.

Its not like this is anything new. I remember when they had Silver Crown in Milwaukee and sprints in Terre Haute. Great entertainment with the police escort down Route 41 for the drivers who had just flown into Terre Haute from Milwaukee and were coming into the track. Flashing lights, sirens, the whole nine yards. Talk about a spectacular entrance!

I think another year they also did this with Milwaukee and Gas City for Sprint Week. I think I remember the first night there was nothing happening at Gas City during the long intermission for track reworking because Brenda Darland was in Milwaukee with the Silver Crown cars, but she was at Gas City the second night and got a bunch of drivers out into the grandstand area for an impromptu autograph session during track reworking.

I was on the Milwaukee junket and that was kind of spectacular -- the next day in at the Mile was less than spectacular for an old guy

I was one of the ticked off fans in the stands that THAT that evening - we waited for well over an hour for the drivers to arrive from Milwaukee while the track sat idle; they then began qualifying! Didn't want to penalize any of the drivers with a too dry track...but the track had dried out after the mods had run all of their races, anyway, so all of the sprint cars faced a dry track.

The only good thing about the evening is that I was camped there in my RV, so cheap beer was acccessible.....

They only run about 12 Silver Crown races a year you think they would schedule around things like tonight. They (USAC) are only hurting the car counts at both tracks and it sucks for the FANS, THE PEOPLE WHO PAY MONEY TO KEEP THEM (USAC) IN BUISNESS.

I guess what they get from racing with the Nationwide Taxi Cabs at Iowa is worth more than what they lose at Belleville with all their fans.

Heard the 50 lap sprint feature was going to be two 25 lap segments. Jacob Wilson on the Pole for Silver Crown.

Yes, but remember all the "great fun" all of us who came for a sprint car race had watching the mods pack down and dry out the track.
