 I just got a call from Bob Clauson who is at Irwindale Speedway for Turkey Night and he and many of the folks in the motor homes are pretty unhappy. The folks from Irwindale Speedway came around earlier today and informed them there would be a $40 fee for parking this year. He said there are no hook-ups, dump station, or anything like that, just a small spot on an asphalt lot. He said there are around 70 motor homes already there and a lot of unhappy people. He said he was also told that there was going to be a $10 fee for spectator car parking this year. Wow, can you imagine the reactions we're going to hear on this.

Let's hope none of the promoters here do the math:angry-smiley-007:
Ya that stuff ticks me off also,I don't mind paying when there are hook ups.But to make ya pay for nothing:doh:
But at least he is at a race (even know it's pavement )it sure beats this blow out football game.

Also just read that they're also charging $300 per team to practice. Anyone know how the payout is? There's been a lot of talk about Chili Bowl payout, anyone know the payout for Turkey Night?

$300 to practice, cost of tires and fuel, finish 25th or worse and earn $450? Whoever first said that how to make a small fortune in racing was to start with a big fortune wasn't messing around.

Hmmmm.... some of this same stuff goes on at the Silly Bowl and everybody thinks it's just fine......... Hey... if the promoters can do it in Tulsa, then that opens the door for all the rest of them to do the same.

I think it was last year at the Bowl that they started this preferred parking crap. I can't remember how much a pass was but it was for the main lot beside the Expo Center for all four nights. I worked my way around it though without having to walk really far away.
If they just started this stuff at Irwindale.....:action-smiley-049:
