August 9-11

Contemplating going

Two non wing shows, one 410 winged shot

Contemplating going.

What do you think the car count will be for the USAC shows at both places? Think they can get mid 30's?

The Osky Show has been awesome for quite a few years. We got rained out in 2007. Tuesday night
is the race to go to. If Angell Park rains out 8-9 I'll be there for the USAC Sprints.
Best Regards,
John

I'm planning on going to K'Ville then hit the Front Row Challenge at Osky since I've never been there then I have high tail it back home so no Ultimate Challenge for me. The winner's share has been dropped from $30K to $15K at Osky for what I heard to put more money into the winged show so more teams will show up. Kinda like robbing Peter to pay Paul if you ask me.

Hmmm... This race just got USAC sanction this year if I am not mistaken. Maybe the drop in pay is to cover the sanction fee. I hope this is not true. This race never needed USAC sanction in the past nor do I think it needs it now.

Stagger,
This is either the third or fourth year that USAC has had the sanction at Osky. This is the first year for the Sunday night USAC race at Knoxville although they ran a non wing race one night during the Nationals a few years back. The three nights prior to Sunday at Knoxville will be the 360 Nationals.

It was USAC sanctioned last year. Yes it never had any trouble drawing a good amount of cars in the past.

Yea you guys are right. I must be getting old or time flies way to fast............Didn't they have a deal where they had an invite only non wing deal at knoxville right after the McCarl deal? I think Sammy won it. Paid real well If I remember right.

Osky and Knoxville are both great. Go for it.

Thinking about crowd size instead of car count, the infield "spectators" for the Front Row Challenge have a huge financial imapct that is not there for the wingless race. I think they have been actually paying the purse in effect for the wingless cars.

But what do I know, i like both kinds of sprinters.
