Tyler Shoemaker is on the cusp of making the leap from midgets and sprint cars into the ARCA RE/MAX Series. Andy Belmont Racing has signed Tyler on as a driver in his driver development program, and all the pieces including cars that are capable of winning the race, a young driver ready make his debut at the Allen Crowe 100 at the Illinois State Fair 8/23/09 are in place, with the exception of the sponsorship dollars needed to make it all go. Tyler has been tirelessly working to obtain enough corporate sponsorship, and although some corporate monies have been collected, he is still considerably short of what will be needed to make it happen. So, I am here asking you, his friends, fellow racers, IOW’ers, and fans for your support. I have had the pleasure of helping Tyler by sponsoring his sprint car in the past, and he has been very appreciative of what we have been able to contribute, but this deal is just way out of our league financially. A little powder coating shop in Illinois is decent help for a sprint car team, but we’re just a drop in the bucket with this deal. So, I am asking for your help to keep Tyler’s dream alive. I’m not real computer saavy, but I will try to include a link to his Facebook page where you can find more information on how we can get him to the race. If you can help, wonderful! If not, perhaps you know of someone who can, or know of a business that might benefit from the exposure at the Illinois State Fair. If Tyler can get this deal put together, I would love to get together with some IOW’ers in the stands. The Silver Crown race is the day before, and it would be a great race weekend to see the open wheel cars on Sat., and then root on one of our own on Sunday. Thank you.
