All the racing images I have are way too big to be avatars. Is there some free software that will reduce a 1/2 MB JPG file to a file suitable for uploading?

The avatar sizer seems to work. And, I managed to upload the pic. I did not realize that the Profile Pic and the Avatar Pic are two different things. I uploaded to the Profile Pic and then was disappointed that I didn't have an avatar. This webby stuff confuses me sometimes. :-)
