Just a couple of years ago... :-)

This guy has lots of "old" USAC open wheel footage.

Heres a barn burnner from 1987. It amazes me how well you could see the drivers working their magic in the cockpit even then. Today Body panels go to the top of the cage. It also amazes me Vogler maintained third for ten laps with a flat right front.

Man how I miss Santa Fe Speedwa....just about every race there was a barn burner! I grew up about 45-50 miles from there. To this day, Santa Fe is favorite track (and I have been to around 150 tracks). There was just something about that place that gave me the chills every time I went. I could go on and on about that place....those memories will never die for me. I just wish I could have seen some of the flat track bike races there as Santa Fe was the hot bed for flat track bikes, but I was pretty young and from what my dad said, the crowds were pretty rough back then.
