I was wondering why Ricky Stenhouse Jr made it into Nascar/Roush Racing Sprint Cup racing when so many other
sprint car drivers only dream about it.

Anybody have any answers? I don't know much about Ricky. Maybe he truely deserves it and that is the answer.

Thanks,

The kid has some pretty sick skills.. and is a Flat out Gasser! He stood in for Hines at TSR and did a decent job to say the least! my guess is he did a good job in arca when he ran, so they figured to see what he had to offer.. He deserves it just as much as the next guy..

Rick is without question one of the finest young men you will ever meet. Genuine in every aspect and when you talk to him, it will be "Yes Sir, No Sir - Yes Ma'am, No Ma'am". We have had the privilege of getting to know Rick over the last few years and he is a great race car driver from a very good Family. It is tough to say exactly why he is where he is and others are not, but that has a lot to do with it, I am sure. Plus, everything he has gotten in, he wins Feature Races; that has to help as well. Yes, there are a lot of others deserving as well but I believe it is a certain combination of factors that make a relationship successful and so far, they have the right combo and it is dialed in. Just like other "occupations"; when you get a job, if you are able to accel in many areas that help the company, you usually make yourself an asset rather than a liability when things get tough. So it appears that Ricky is doing a fine job helping Roush Yates as a company too.

A few years back at PRI, Ricky was going from Booth to Booth with his Resume, nicely dressed and introducing himself to everyone. He was by himself and as shy as he may come off, he gave a firm handshake and looked you directly in the eye when talking to you. If you had a question or wanted to make a point, he listened without interrupting, thought about what he would say and gave you a straight answer. As a Business Owner myself, it is refreshing when you get an individual that cares that much about their trade and goes above the "call of duty" to present themselves in a professional manner. I believe it is the "Little Things" like that which make the difference some times. That too helps a young man that is trying to make a name for himself.

Regardless, we are very happy for Rick and his Family. Great people.
