ISC Net Income Falls 31 percent: International Speedway Corp.'s fiscal first-quarter net income fell 31% on falling revenue amid price cuts as the racetrack operator cut its fiscal-year outlook, citing a worsening economy. The company has seen attendance at its events fall. The average income of NASCAR fans is below the national median, making them more susceptible to the recession. The company had also said it had begun to see a slowdown in corporate spending for hospitality, making the process of securing deals more time consuming. The company cut its fiscal-year earnings outlook to a range of $1.80 to $2 on revenue of $700 million to $720 million from December's estimate of $2.35 to $2.45 a share on revenue of $745 million to $765 million. It also said it wasn't including its Motorsports Authentics business in that estimate, saying that division's management was re-evaluating it given the challenges of selling licensed sports goods in the current market. President Lesa Kennedy said the company had reduced ticket prices to make it more affordable for fans to come to events. For the period ended Feb. 28, the motorsports promoter reported net income of $25.1 million, or 52 cents a share, down from $36.2 million, or 71 cents a share, a year earlier. Excluding items, earnings fell to 56 cents from 78 cents. Revenue decreased 14 percent to $166.1 million

My opinion is it isn't necessarally the price of the product, But the product itself.

Lucky Dogs, Clone cars, Tracks that don't provide good racing.
Give me Darlington and The Rock anyday.

For the jobless, it doesn't matter if the ticket is 200 or 20 they probably still aren't going to make it due to more important reasons.

Chuck, understanding there were tickets to Bristol available at least one week prior to the race. Been years since that happened.

Didn't these tracks have their taxes cut about 7 years ago? Where were you then Chuck. Surely you can find a nazi board where you can feel more at home. Seriously, can't you ever just keep it about the subject, with out some political comment? Granted I am not rich like you, as I do not claim to be able to buy members out 5 times. I am just a person who works for a living.

Brent, Tell me where yours don't?

Im not about ********, I don't see how taking tax payers money and giving it to private buisness makes any sense. Free enterprise means you thrive or dye on your own.

Are there problems being address that should have been long ago? Yeah. I don't hate anybody but I see a lot of preaching one thing and doing another.

No, I can't buy out Mortboys now, Lost almost half just like the rest of us. Truthfully Id like to meet them though. Seems every dissagreement I've ever had on here. I've found a way to get along and actually some great friendships have developed. If you can't enjoy a race together or talk about racing. THeres something wrong.

BTW, If your not politically involved, SHAME ON YOU. Its not a dictatorship. I may be wrong as much as Im right but unless your (And I mean majority) tell them what THE PEOPLE WANT! Don't ***** about the conseqences.. From what I've seen most NORMAL people aren't on the opposite sides of issues. Just politcal parties. Which sucks to be truthful. Do the right thing for the majority. Screw special interest and lobbyest.

Chuck, Wondering why Brent wants to blame someone else for problems in his life. EVERYONE HAS THEM!

Chuck, just for the record my avatar and signature are not political. I am glad you are happy with your feelings and I am not saying you are wrong. I just think this board is not the place. (including what I am writing now) As far as me being involved in my community I have been elected to a postion the last 16 years. The last time my opponent out spent me 400%. I will bow out now and wish you the best. Would be more than happy to discuss this with you if you see me at the races. I will bet you that you will post with some kind of political comment before I do. I usually wager in cash, but I also like beer.
