I have heard as few as 15 or 16 cars, hopefully those numbers are wrong and the car count is higher. We will know later today.

Actually there were 14 SC cars, the 17 & 27 RW Motorsports, 19 & 21 6R Racing, 99 Carl Edwards RE Tech, 4 Contos Racing, 10 TSR, 28, 6, 50, 32, 29, 22, and 42.
Unfortunately the low car count is a sign of the economy.

I love the silver crown cars, but they are exclusive to USAC which means ZERO local support from any track in the country. Not only that but they haven't been part of the championship trail in almost 40 years and they are no longer a stepping stone to anything bigger. As sad as it may be, I think USAC needs to consider eliminating them. Any local tracks in IN/IL that would like to run them on a regular basis?

Yes Mark, only one TSR & RE car. My translation of that is the sponsorship money they have been running their teams on has been cut back therefore their operations are cut back. Don't get me wrong, I think Tony and Carl both give alot back to the level of racing they came from, with that being said, it was never their own money they were spending. Of course this is a guess on my part, not inside information.
I have a couple of pictures I took of Jacob at PIR, I guess the next chance I will have to get them to you is Richmond. Richmond & Oswego will be my next SC races to the best of my knowledge at this time. Hopefully, there will still be a SC division running at that time, the above poster thinks USAC should do away with them. Wonder if he has heard the same rumors I have that Mr. Miller has been told he has to make USAC profitable and eliminating the SC division is the best way to do that.
If this comes to pass USAC will lose this fan, the SC division is what gets me to a handful of USAC races around the country a year.
Best of Luck to Jacob and Clinton in the 2009 season!

...and also don't forget, it appears that the Nolen #20 may have been stolen enroute to Phoenix....

I was strolling the pit area yesterday and I did see the TSR SC cars #10 & #22 there. I dont think the 22 hit the track in practice at all though.
