Hoosier Auto Racing Fans 57th Annual Champions Banquet is set for Jan. 25th at the Brickyard Resorts pavillion (the large tent type building just east of the motel). Tickets are still available for $20 each, but as usual, we are getting close to being sold out again this year, so call for tickets as soon as possible. As always, many of our local Champions will be on hand along with the recipients of our "special" awards. There is always alot of surprises throughout the day, with a ton of door prizes and a room full of Silent Auction items. Contact us thru the web site (www.harfinfo@comcast.net) or call (317) 487-8096.
But that's just one days work. On Saturday the 24th (the day before the Banquet) HARF will have a booth at the "Gathering Before the Green" at the Indiana State Museum. The "Gathering" is a racing p.r. events set up to stimulate interest in racing in the state of Indiana, and arranged by Mike King. Mike was kind enough to offer HARF booth space at this event to promote our club, so we want to thank him, and hopefully add to the racing event.
so...is that enough off-season racing fun? NO!
The following Saturday, Jan. 31st, is one of the highlights of the year for us, and that is the Indy Circle Track Expo #9. Tia & Craig Dori's huge racing "swap meet" held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Once again this year, the Dori's have offered HARF booth space to promote the club, & we wish to thank them for the opportunity. Make sure you get to this event, it's a fun day of bench racing, seeing old friends, and buying more great racin' stuff we can't do without.
you can rest the next day in front of the tv and enjoy all the Super Bowl commercials, we hope to see you there. bob.

...and then 3 weeks later we get to enjoy the Vogler / Daytona 500 party. it's always fun seeing all the new paint schemes and teams. we'll be rooting for the all-Indiana team of Stewart-Newman this year, hopefully a comeback year for both of those drivers after a disappointing 2008. Bring lots of money, it all goes to a great cause. bob:checkered:

...we do sir, a huge collection of Pepi photos, including a Ken Coles piece, a hand painted piece of Pepi in action, and a bunch of great photos. It's surprising what some of our great members find to donate to the club. thanks again Mike. bob:checkered:

*SPECIAL NOTE, for those who may not know, the Banquet this year is in a new location. The 57th Awards Banquet will be held at the Brickyard Crossing Resort Pavillion (the large tent-like building on the east side of the motel). Exit #16 off of I-465 and head for the track, (it's the old Speedway Motel right by turn 2 of the Speedway), then watch for parking signs. bob:checkered:
