Past year was pavement for both.

How many dirt focus cars are around???

What about Regional Midgets?? How many would run?

How many if a dirt track booked them??

Any interest ???

Where are the T/Q's in their split ?
Anybody seen schedules or know what is going on.

Just wondering?

I really don't see a point to the focus midgets. Run pavement races in the middle of the week, and when they are on dirt they are slower than the tq's and mini sprints. Plus more expensive.

D.O.,

Seems to me USAC doesn't want any dirt focus races. It's like they chased them all off. The last one at Gas city was a great show too.

As for regional dirt midgets, that was tried a few years back. I remember Putnamville ran them some. It just seems like the little cars don't get the support the sprinters get around here.

1) Did they ever have a regional for pavement or dirt FF midget racing?

a) All I remember was the "National" and in the past the winner was determined
by a combined score of the National Dirt Race added to the points/placement
in the National Pavement Race.

2) The idea was brought up about TQ schedules compared with the FF Schedules.

On the West Coast both TQ Midgets and FF Midgets run at most of the
Southern Dirt Tracks. Some Tracks host the TQ's and others host the FF
Midgets.

a) FF Midgets run at Perris, Ca. TQs run at Santa Maria. FF Midgets and TQs
both run at Bakersfield, Ca. For the most part only USAC FF Midgets and
Jr. FF Midgets run at Ventura, CA. I bet the TQs get one race at Ventura.

b) I know a few FF Midget races on dirt will be run at Watsonville, CA dirt and
that is a Northern, CA track. I will have to look at Kings Speedway to see if
any FF midgets or TQ's will run at that track.

c) In General Tulare, CA don't run many races.

3) So you see, there are two small Midgets organizations in Southern, Ca on
dirt...ie...the TQ's and FF Midgets and I really don't see anything changing
soon or other-wise. The FF Midgets has the potential to draw a few more
cars than the TQs, I feel but I have a feeling both organization will be in
existance for a long time.

a) They have run both cars in the same division in the past, But USAC
wanted their own organization. Someday you might see another
midget organization like ASCA Midget, but I feel that is a good 7 years
away, at least in CA. That is my own opinion.

Sincerely,

Larry Otani and God Bless you all!:applaud:

I do know that they are moving the wednesday night shows to mostly friday this year. The rumor behind part of the reason there is no dirt for focus in Indiana is because of the switch over the yates racing. But there r suppose to be six to seven dirt focus races this year in Indiana.. But dont know how dirt cars they would get cause almost everyone this year in the focus switched over to pavement cars which takes away the point of the series.

As far as the TQ groups, they have traditionally put out their schedules later in the year. You can count on one race each year. UMRA will run at Rushville on July 4. If that doesn't happen, you'd better send some blankets and heaters down to Hades because the place just froze over.

I was told that there were to be a few Dirt Focus races this year, but my concern would be how many cars would show up? Remember there are an awlful lot of pavement cars out there that would not work.

No Badger midget schedule out yet either. Could there be a connection here?
