Great racing. No crowd. Yes, the weather has been keeping them away, but here is a great event with no one, and I mean NO ONE in the seats.
I hope Vado Speedway is getting their fair share of the Flo $$$.
My point? Is the Flo money making up for the lost money at the gate? One could have sold 400 tickets to this place, sold popcorn, pop. and beer (not knowing their cooler policy) and ran the gate $$$ up big time.
I hope Flo covered this.
The debate continues as to what money goes where and who can survive. Me? I think I will have another beer while sitting here in my pajamas and watching the action. I'll shoot for WoO at Volusia. I don't have Dirtvision.

I have to agree with you there, Aurora. But Flo has to be propping this event up pretty much by themselves. I wonder if the owner/promoter is taking a bath this year.

A lot of the money, for the WildwestShootout comes from major sponsors, and the owner of the track Royal Jones, avid race fan. Also owns the truck stop nearby. Great guy.😎
You're correct. I read a column on Dirt on Dirt exactly what you say. The owner and sponsors really foot the bill for this series. And I read the promoter of Fairbury, Matt Curl, is one of the co-owners of the series. Once again, we're all speculating on how much FLO is "propping" up this series. Guess that is their business decision. It really is a shame about the cold weather. We can say the exact opposite happened last summer for the Maverick winged sprint car weekend when the weather was too hot, hampering attendance.
Owning the 1600 truck fleet of Mesilla Valley Transportation probably keeps him in folding money as well. Vado is almost 4000' elevation so January weather is iffy at best. He went all out building this racetrack and it is a spectator delight. I was hoping USAC Sprints would hit there on the weekend between Lawrenceburg and the Western World at Casa Grande. It's now showing Dodge City on Fri Oct 17 with a TBA for Sat so that kills that hope. My next vote would be Lawton on Sat. Oct 18.
