Joe Spiker Promotions, Inc. is glad to announce the addition of the Pure Stock class to the weekly program at Vermilion County Speedway. This is just another way to show our dedication to giving the racers and fans what they want at THEIR home town track.

The decision to add the Pure Stocks was done in large part to Gordon and Vicki Parsons. We were contacted about not including the class and told that over 100 additional people attend VCS for the Pure Stock Class. They made the statement and we made the challenge for the Parsons to guarantee a minimum of 100 tickets sold by Friday night prior to the first 5 races plus producing a minimum of 10 cars to race.

The Parsons got on the phone and the Pure Stock fans and drivers responded with excitement and dedication. The Parsons have agreed to guarantee the purchase the 100 ticket sales and a minimum of 10 cars for the first 5 races. We feel the class will build cars and fans on its own.

So here's the deal. $160 to win (double what was paid last year), 2nd $90, 3rd $50, 4th $35 with the remaining feature cars receiving $25. The following cars and drivers have committed to racing at VCS for the entire 2009 season. The rules will be posted soon. The 2009 VCS Schedule has been updated.
Gordon Parsons Jr., Kyle Campbell, Frank Parson, Jack Dowers, James Buyno, Mike Johnson, Josh Troxell, Tim Miller, Scott Miller, Chris Wasson, Tony Mitchell, Walter Parsons, Billy Thornton, Danny Cope and Wes Parson. This class will put on some great racing along with some special novelty events.

Vermilion County Speedway releases schedule

Vermilion County Speedway will start a new era on April 18th. 410 Sprint Cars will be the headliner for the first time in recent years. The Toyota of Danville Modifieds, VCS (crate) Late Models and VCS Street Stocks will be the card for the 19 weekly events.



Among the 9 Special events highlighted will be the UMP Dirtcar 21st Annual Summer Nationals on July 5th. The UMP Dirtcar Monster Midwest Late Models will compete on the fast ¼ mile dirt oval on July 22nd and August 29th. The O’Reilly Late Models will compete on August 15th.



The Midwest Sprint Car Series cars and stars will be in action on June 27th honoring “Danville Sprint Car Legends” Norman “Bubby” Jones and Brothers Larry “Boom Boom” and Steve Cannon. The MSCS Sprints will be the headliner on September 11th for the “USA

Freedom Classic” with $3000 to win.



The staple event for several years at the Vermilion County Speedway has been the “David Richardson Memorial” presented by Toyota of Danville with $5000 to win for the Modifieds. This will be a two day event on Memorial Day weekend May 23rd and 24th.



Additional novelty events will be added later to go along with the “Racin’ with DO Racefest” featuring $2000 to win for the Sprint Cars along with “Hero and Hot Dog Qualifying” with a bonfire and race party on Labor Day Weekend September 5th.



First year promoter Joe Spiker stated “We have developed various affordable ticket options for the Speedway, including $10 admission for adults and kids 10 and under are free for our weekly racing show. Special events are only $15. 10 different nights of racing will offer a $2 discount with a state issued ID for anyone from the community being honored.



A “Gold Season Pass” is just $275 which is admission for every race along with a reserved seat and reserved parking space. We are offering a “Red Family Track Pack” for $25 on a weekly event and $30 for special events which includes 2 adults and 2 kids up to age 14. For those who want to attend several events, the “Green Track Pack” will admit one adult for 12 weekly events for the price of 10.

A special non smoking, non alcohol seating section is available. We have planned a variety of events all with family fun in mind at a very affordable price, presented in a safe environment with the opportunity to witness some great racing action. That’s what we are all about.”



The preseason drivers meeting will be held on Saturday February 21st at the Toyota of Danville 2106 Georgetown Rd, Tilton, IL‎ at 3:00 PM. The official website for the track is vermilioncountyspeedway.com
