Kayla started 7th after missing the redraw. By lap two she was in second. By lap four she was leading. One yellow at lap ten and she held the guys off till the end. sometimes extending her lead, sometimes losing ground.

Track was very heavy.
Second. Max Adams. Third Weir.

Nobody? Nothin?

She went up and took that win. Biked at one point I thought she was goin over but with a fifteen car length lead, gathered it and oot back after it. Two Track champions and multiple burg winners in that field and she waxed em. Max got runs on her but couldn't pass When she got thru 4 ok she would yard em. that turn was tricky for everyone.

Some of the biggest cheers I've heard in a long time.

Just a opinion, The track was a little too heavy. I love the fact they really don't have to water all night on a 92 degree day. But having to grade it before features is a bit too much. Folks could run high. But to clean it off you needed many to do it.

Still feature was done by 10 Sprints and it was a good show!

Congratulations to Kayla. Well deserved. Cant wait to talk to her dad, but that will probably be when hes doing the fields in front of my house. A bit to heavy? After the track conditions I witnessed at Portsmouth Saturday night, I would take grading after every heat race compared to what i saw.

Im not bashing. I've talked to two of the car owners and racers. They just missed it. Expected it to clean off and were way too tight.

And I got no idea on how you can tell what Burg was when you were elsewhere. Portsmouths always a dustbowl like Brownstown even if it has moisture in it. It's sandy.

Burg barely had a lane at the bottom. It was as if the whole track was fluff, I don't know why. I seen a couple things that indicate they had rain in the morning. But IDK. Not a bash on them. Everyone still had nipples on the tires after the races.

Kayla drives my uncle's midget when she is available, and I can say with confidence they deserve this. The Roell family puts a lot of work in on their program and are always more than willing to help us when they come to the track. Even things that would not be expected of them.

As Scott says, "They're not just a helmet bag"

Congrats Roell family.

You never forget your first sprint car win. I don’t care what track it happened at, or who the competition was. You strap into a sprint car and race, you’ve got my respect. Happy for that family as they’ll always have this memory.
Winning any race is a major accomplishment, congratulations!

My Question is. Has there been another Lady who's won a NON WING sprint car race in Indiana? Kayla had some stiff competition. Weir's won before and finished second at the Boss Race, Abrams has won a few and been track champion. Westerfeld multiple wins, boss champion. burg champion. Hughes has a few wins there and usually up front.

She had the car and she had the talent. WINNER!
Congrats!!

Nice job reporting, Charles. Kayla's win would not have gotten the attention on IN Open Wheel had you not given all of us a report and video. I loved the video screaming excitement!
