BMARA ANNOUNCES FORMATION OF NEW HALL OF FAME IN ‘24
Sun Prairie, WI (March 15, 2024) - The Badger Midget Auto Racing Association has announced the formation of a new Badger Midget Series Hall of Fame to begin operation in ‘24. Initial and subsequent induction classes will be decided on by a nominating committee appointed by the BMARA Board of Directors. “We have existed since 1936,” stated BMARA President Quinn McCabe, “and when Robbie Ray approached me about starting a new hall of fame I knew it was time.” Ray, the 2017 BMARA Driver Champion and current board member became the driving force behind the Hall of Fame idea. “I think it is important that we preserve our history,” stated Ray, “and we need to honor those who have helped make the BMARA such a prominent and successful organization.” The initial class will have a mix of 20 inductees and will be made up of drivers, car owners, and associates of the BMARA who have significantly impacted its success since its inception in 1936. “So many people have dedicated so much to our sport,” says Ray, “and making sure either they or their families know that it means something to us is important. I’m looking forward to celebrating with the inductees later in the year.” The BMARA Hall of Fame will hold its first induction ceremony at the July 28 BMARA Reunion race held at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI. Inductions will be celebrated publicly to allow the fans to participate. “The fans mean so much to our series,” stated Ray, “So, we want to give them the chance to celebrate with us. What better place than at the famous Angell Park Speedway.” Complete details for the event will be released at a later date. Fans are encouraged to watch for more information on the hall of fame on the BMARA website at BMARA.com or on the series Facebook page “BMARA Racing.” |

Yes. - I got to attend (thanks to Lavern Spencer of the IRS, for the tickets) Paul's National Midget HoF introduction in 2010. I recently spoke with a person that worked with Paul at a local company (which I found out Paul started!) and looked for more online info from that induction, but I could not find it. That HoF ceremony was very informative. I knew Paul as the guy who would give me a little hard time for showing up at the last minute (or, possibly late sometimes) at the bmara pill draw; and the guy in charge of the points and what not of Badger, but (at that time) I didn't know of all of the years he owned cars (my dad & uncle had talked of him owning the car KO bought, and my uncle had talked of watching Paul mount tires back in the 70s); and his own exploits in boat racing (if I recall correctly). When I attend the races at Angell Park Speedway still, I like to go by their pit area and say hi/offer to push the car or smthn if needed maybe...

List of BMARA's biggest race winners (neat that it is on wiki).
I might not be 100% accurate, but I think all of these (below) that list another organization, until maybe 2010, were co-sanctioned with BMARA; and then possibly 2014/2015. The latter years (on this list) - 2019/2021 - I'm not sure about (but its only two years out of a long list). I like the current Firemans Nationals format, the last year or two (a USAC winner and a BMARA winner - separate races). If anyone knows how to update wiki, please do so (with those winners). lol. I do not know how to and really do not want to... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angell_Park_Speedway Fireman Nationals The track's most notable event is its 50 lap Fireman Nationals midget car event. 1982 (overall) Bill Engelhart[9] 1983 Kevin Olson 1984 Dan Boorse 1985 Rich Vogler 1986 Kevin Olson (USAC) 1987 Kevin Olson (USAC) 1988 Kevin Doty (USAC) 1989 Kevin Doty (USAC) 1990 Kevin Doty (USAC) 1991 Stevie Reeves (USAC) 1992 Marty Davis 1993 Page Jones 1994 Kevin Doty 1995 Kevin Doty 1996 Randy Koch 1997 Kevin Olson 1998 Kevin Olson 1999 Dan Boorse 2000 Jay Drake 2001 Tracy Hines 2002 Tracy Hines 2003 Davey Ray 2004 Scott Hatton 2005 Scott Hatton 2006 (rained out) 2007 Jerry Coons Jr. 2008 Brady Bacon 2009 Josh Wise (USAC) 2010 Tracy Hines (USAC) 2011 (rained out)[10] 2012 Caleb Armstrong 2013 Zach Daum 2014 Tanner Thorson (USAC) 2015 Rico Abreu (USAC) 2016 Carson Macedo (POWRI) / Robbie Ray (BMARA) 2017 Zach Daum[8] 2018 Tanner Carrick[8] 2019 Logan Seavey (POWRI)[8] 2020 not held (COVID)[8] 2021 Tanner Thorson (USAC)[8]
