MASSINGILL TURNS THE TABLES, WINS AT MOLER

Williamsburg, Ohio (June 2, 2023)………After Bryce Massingill finished second to Zach Wigal a month ago in the season opening points race for the USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midgets, he made sure to turn the tables the next time around.

On Friday night, Massingill (Troy, Ohio) reversed the order by finishing first with Wigal second at Williamsburg, Ohio’s Moler Raceway Park, and now both are tied atop the series points.

Wigal (Belpre, Ohio) held the upper hand on the opening lap after starting from the pole.* However, Matt Lux (Manilla, Ind.), winner of the two most recent special events on the schedule, took and led laps two through four.* Wigal reassumed control on the fifth circuit and gripped the top position for the next five laps.

On lap 10, sixth-starting Massingill had worked his way into contention and made his winning move past Wigal.* From there, Massingill led the remaining 11 laps to earn his eighth career series victory.

Wigal came home second with Lux third, reigning series champion Stratton Briggs (Anna, Ohio) fourth and Josh Yenser (Plain City, Ohio) fifth.
