The 10th Annual King of the Midwest Sprints race will be held Saturday night April 30th at the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Ind. As a nod to the former King of the Indiana Sprint Series (KISS), this event is an opportunity for the local racers to compete for an increased purse of $2,500 to win and $250 to start the 25-lap feature.

King of the Midwest Sprints Feature Payout ($11,225 total)
1- $2,500, 2- $1,250, 3- $1,000, 4- $700, 5- $600, 6- $500, 7- $475, 8- $450, 9- $425, 10- $400, 11- $375, 12- $350, 13- $325, 14- $300, 15- $275, 16- $270, 17- $265, 18- $260, 19- $255, 20- $250.

As standard practice at all Lawrenceburg Speedway races, there will be $100 tow money paid to all sprint cars that do not start the feature, and $63 paid to the Hard Charger, the driver who advances the most positions in the feature.

The race format will feature a blind pill draw to set the heat race groups and lap times gathered during practice will set the heat race lineups. Cars will be lined straight up by time with the fastest four cars in each heat race inverted.

Heat race finish determines the lineups for the B Main(s) and feature with the top two finishers in each heat race (if five or more heats only the winners) redrawing for their starting position at the front of the feature field.

Several former Kings of the Midwest Sprints have either retired, are racing with other series, or elsewhere, giving an opportunity for a new driver to etch his name in the record books and wear the crown Saturday night.

Tyler Kendall should be considered one of the favorites to end the night in Signarama victory lane. Kendall is the current Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint point leader over Joss Moffatt (-60), Sterling Cling (-75), Garrett Abrams (-90), and Cole Bodine (-110). Kendall has been quick each race winning both of his heats. He has led twenty-nine of a possible fifty feature laps, scoring his first win at the Burg on opening night, and finishing runner-up to 2011 track champion Chad Boespflug last weekend.

General admission gates are set to open at 5:00 pm Saturday with hot laps at 6:00 pm, and opening ceremonies are scheduled for 7:00 pm. Adult general admission is $20, children (7-12) are $7, and those 6 and under are free. Pit passes are $32 for all ages (pit passes cannot be purchased as an upgrade from a promo ticket, family four-pack, or a theme night).

Racing for Saturday, April 30th is Cancelled

With scattered showers today and a likely chance of storms tonight, we feel we can not get our program in tonight.

We will look forward to seeing you at our next scheduled event Saturday, May 7th as we will host the King of the Midwest Sprints race in conjunction with the BOSS Series.
