I joined Dirt Draft this weekend, now I am not very phone savvy and I am definitely not a gambler and so I had stayed away from this until now but I did want to tell folks out there like me that it is not exactly what I thought. I did not want to get down a wormhole where you had to pay each time you "bet" on a race but that is not the way it is.
I pay $6.00 a month or there is an option to pay for a year, that appears to be it, it is a flat fee. They have a list of races that you can play and you go in and put a five car team together. They have the driver roster and each driver is assigned an amount of money that they cost and you cannot go over $100,000.00, but it is more difficult than you think.
The Atomic USAC race for instance, JG cost $22,000.00 and he was the most expensive but the least expensive driver was Garbry I think at $18,000.00 so if you want a top tier guy then you have to pick a couple guys down on the list so that you can stay under the cap.
If you do well you get points, I am not sure what the points go for but I have no thoughts of getting rich playing this game. I played the All-Star race Friday and it makes the heats more interesting because you are going to have a couple marginal picks that you need to get into the feature for your lineup.
I did well in the USAC race Saturday and in the WoO race Saturday and had a little fun doing it, well worth my $6. Incidentally, I noticed that Chief Wahoo won the WoO Dirtdraft for Saturday so congrats to him and maybe he could fill us in on anything I might have missed about the App.

Thanks for the shout out. Blind squirrel finds a nut once and awhile . You pretty much explained it perfect. Just for participating in a race you get 5 points. The top 100 get more with spots 75-100 getting 25 points, 50-74 get 50 points and so on. Top 10 gets a lot more, but it also depends on how many people score the same. Winner usually gets 800 points. If say 3 people tie for 5th then they split points. With the salary cap it does make it difficult then just picking the top guys night in and night out. Believe mine should be getting ready to renew again and I’ve been able to score 2 free USAC tickets with pit pass in that time frame. Gotten better with some of the Tin Top races and have kinda learned some names. In the beginning I was blindly picking I’ve had fun playing along and it does give ya something to cheer for.

Eat dirt, be happy 🇺🇸

Yes I too play the Dirtdraft and got me a nice 3rd and 13th last night for some points. It’s fun but also sometimes interferes with pre-race festivities as you try to set your lineup up. I try to play every contest available even some I don’t know much about, just try to throw some stuff against the wall and hope something sticks. Only one thing bothers me about it. I try to use my points for race tickets. They made it sound like it’s readily available but in actuality there’s only 2 or 4 tickets available for any one event. There’s been times I decided I would go only to have none available. To me that’s kinda false advertisement. By the way, there’s one left for Bloomington, and 4 up for Tri-State Terre Haute and ELDORA, so if you have points and want to go, get over there and grab em before they’re gone. I should pay it annually instead of monthly then if I get one race ticket a year I’m only out about $15. Overall it’s fun but easy to outsmart yourself sometimes
