I think every ERA has drivers who excel and stand out among the rest. Some have more than one and usually at the time of their exhibited excellence. They are committed to one type of racing when they are doing it (Open Wheel, Stock Car. IMSA, Wing or non, Pavement or dirt, Front engine or rear) ETC.
We've seen many who were excellent in more than one. AJ, Mario, Unsers etc Today we have two that absolutely stand amongst the Greatest of All Time in many different disciplines. Kody Swanson, On Pavement everyone else is running for second, On dirt, a podium threat. Midgets, sprints, Champ Cars, Formula 2000, IMSA, Short track pavement stock cars, Indy Lights. Why he's not in Indycar is beyond me. Kyle Larson, If there's a race he wants to win. he's gonna do it and find the way to do it. Doesn't matter what type of car, track, type of racing and sometimes he'll make it look easy doing so. Even when the car wasn't up to par. He does it by feel and finds the line his car needs faster than anyone. No doubt amongst the greatest of all time. Everyone's view won't be the same, However I feel it a blessing to witness it.
