Fun stuff, thanks for the link. Do they still run speedway races in CA?. Motorcycles on ovals are a must watch for me. Always pleasant to listen your race coverage from the left coast open wheel races.

Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate. Unfortunately, Speedway at the regular weekly tracks (Industry and Costa Mesa) has not taken place since 2019 due to COVID. Costa Mesa may get some dates later in the year and from what I have been told, Industry has been ready to go, but they are having a hard time getting people to work. Fortunately there is a promoter who puts on Speedway once a month at the Perris Raceway (about 15 minutes away from us at Perris Auto Speedway). He also got back into Santa Maria this year. In fact, his race last Saturday night was the final race there (at least for the time being) before the promoter closed the place. He also promotes a race or two at Ventura and actually has one coming up this coming Saturday. It is a far cry from the glory days of the sport in the 1980s. In 1985 we raced six nights a week (Tuesday at Ventura, Wednesday at San Bernardino, Thursday at Ascot, Friday at Costa Mesa, Saturday in Victorville and Sunday in Carlsbad). Northern California still has weekly races on Friday nights in Auburn.
