Jake Scott led a lot of this race early, but would eventually lose his lead to Shane Cockrum. And as that happened, Scott came under assault by Harley Burns, only to recover and harass Cockrum for the lead, again. But, as the race wound down Shane would become more and more dominant. Then, after a flip, that had an extended break to clean up some spilled fuel or other substance, the rain returned. This time you could see in the lights that the drops were much larger than the ones that fell as the race began. 20 of the 25 laps had been completed and I think everyone knew that this shower capped an end to the program. For the last handful of laps leading up to that moment, Shane had shown that he had things under control. Scott raced a hell of a race, though. And Burns just seems to get better each time you see him race.
