TOLEDO, Ohio -- Two lucky spectators for this year’s Rumble in the SeaGate Centre indoor midget races Friday and Saturday, Dec. 19 and 20 will win rides in a two-seat 600 modified midget piloted by Jim “Timex” Morgan.

Morgan, from Rochester, N.Y, will drive a Lapfer Chassis during the indoor races. The two-seater is a duplicate of that car with a wider frame to accommodate a second seat.

The winner will be selected by a drawing of grandstand ticket holders. A crash helmet and fireproof driving uniform will be provided and the rider must sign an insurance release form. The winner must hold an adult ticket.

One winner will receive the thrill each night.

Jeni White of Bexley, Ohio, won a ride at the Buckeye Bowl Indoor Midget Nationals Nov. 1 and climbed from the cockpit with a smile beaming from her face.

NASCAR driver Ken Schrader, a former standout in sprint and midget car racing, will compete both days of the Rumble in the Seagate Centre. The Rumble Series event features National Midget Cars, 600 Winged Modified Midgets, Go-Karts and Quarter Midgets.

Two complete racing programs will be conducted Dec. 19 and 20 at the Seagate Centre. Doors open at noon each day. Time trials for the National Midget cars begin at 4 p.m. Features for the Lucas Oil quarter midgets, go-karts, 600 Winged Modified Midgets begin at 7. All heat races, consolation races and features for the National Midgets will be after 7 p.m.

A pair of tickets to the Sunday, June 14, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series LifeLock 400 race at Michigan International Speedway will be given away on Friday, Dec. 19.

Adult tickets are $20 for each day. Kids 12 and under are $10 each day. All seating is general admission. Pit passes are $30 for one day and $55 for two. Pit passes are sold only on race day. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations, and www.ticketmaster.com. Charge by phone at 419-474-1333. The promoter information line is 317-418-3216 or e-mail at tbracefest@aol.com

The Park Inn Toledo (Formerly the Radisson), 101 N. Summit St., Toledo, Ohio, 43604, is the official Racer’s Rate hotel. The “racer’s rate” is $79 (normally $139.) Fans and competitors should ask for the Rumble rate specifically by calling 419-241-3000 for rooms only. The Park Inn Toledo is connected to the Seagate Centre and overlooks the Maumee River in downtown Toledo.

Mort,

My response to you is this. Keep in mind this post is not meant to be arguementative.

I know what you are getting at...Upon further review...the press releases should say National drivers...I am trying to get across how fine and diverse the drivers are who compete with us...I do not mean just drivers like Kevin Olson, Ken Schrader, and Tony Stewart....but I am equally proud to have the 2008 HOSS Champion...Geoff Kaiser...the 2008 KISS Champion John Stanbrough...The 2008 Midwest Supermodified Champion Timmy J...Former ARDC and IMSA champion Lou Cicconi....Former USAC Champions Tony Elliott,,,,and Dave Darland.... 2008 Indiana and Midwest Ford Focus champion Kyle Hamilton...Mel Kenyon....Canadian driver Ryan Litt.......The list goes on... Matt Westfall, 1999 NAMARS (Jack Calabrase) Champion. We have had UMARA champions..2008 Wolverine Champion Doug Dietsch... and more.

So...I made a mistake by saying...National Midget Cars- It should say National Stars....

That being said...we have the most DIVERSE field of cars that you see anywhere...

If cars could talk...ours have NATIONAL stories to tell during their history...
The car Matt Westfall drives is a Rich Vogler built car....I feel it is/was a National Car...

My definition of National...is an expression of pride in our field. Many won't agree...but it is meant as a positive...and in no way a negative.

Best Wishes During The Holidays,
Tony Barhorst
