BOSS Set to Begin 2020 Season at Atomic Speedway

The MPD Racing - Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series is ready to kick off its 10th season of racing this Saturday, July 4th at Atomic Speedway just south of Chillicothe, Ohio. The main event will pay $2,000 to win and $300 to start. Formerly known as K-C Raceway, Atomic Speedway is the site where it all began for BOSS back in July of 2011. Ione, California's Justin Grant scored the win in that very first show!

Defending tour champion Matt Westfall will be back in the Ray Marshall 33M, looking to back up his win at Atomic a year ago. Tour regulars like Cody Gardner, Dustin Ingle, Korbyn Hayslett, Dallas Hewitt, Mike Miller, Buddy Lowther, Dustin Webber and Steve Little will be challenged by new tour drivers Isaac Chapple and Luke Hall. Atomic Speedway will have some local drivers pulling the wings off, like Todd Kane and Bryan Nuckles and then there are the wild cards like Michael Fischesser, a former BOSS regular who has been so close to Atomic wins on multiple occasions.

The right rear Hoosier tire rule that was set to go into effect beginning with race #6 in 2020 has been postponed and will begin with the 2021 season opener. For the remainder of 2020, ANY commercially available Hoosier tire on the market is legal. So the tire rule for 2020 remains the same as it was in 2019. Starting in 2021, the right rear must be the Hoosier Medium OR the H15.

The 2020 points fund will be prorated based on the number of events run. $1,500 per race completed will go into the championship fund and will be split among the top 10 in final points. The champion will take home a little over 30% of that total fund. Drivers must attend 75% or more of the completed races to be eligible for the payout.

For this Saturday, the main event payout will be as follows: 2000, 1000, 700, 600, 500, 450, 400, 375, 350, 325, 300 on back to start. There is also $100 guaranteed to any car who fails to make or start the main event. Heat races will pay the top four in the amounts of 40, 30, 20, 10. There will also be six bonus awards listed below. The main event winner is guaranteed a free tire from Hoosier Tire Midwest. Points teams will also be given a tire through the course of the season.

As always, there is no membership fee or entry fee with BOSS. It is open to any sprint car team. No mufflers are required. Raceceivers and Westhold (yellow) transponder are required. Transponders can be rented for $10. Pit gates will open at 3 pm with general admission gates open at 4. Qualifying/Hot laps will be at 6 with racing at 7 pm. Fireworks will follow the program!

Be sure to thank our sponsors who are helping make 2020 possible!

MPD Racing, Hawk Brakes, ARP Fasteners, Comp Cams, MSD Ignitions, All Star Performance, TCB Speed, Hoosier Tire, The Bridge Restaurant, Accu Force Dynos & Testers, Cowen Truck Line, All Pro Cylinder Heads, Apple Metal Polishing, and Gross & Sons Custom Millwork.
