Roger offered him a car like 7years ago...I don't c it happening tho...maybe Jay Penske or smthn like that? Too bad they all can't get Ford to come back...

Foyts cars are ok at times still...(TK got 6th on the Iowa oval I think)

I think him running a midget on the dirt track there is more likely...

But if Bill Elliotts coming back to the Xfinity series at RA, tony could at least do the one at the brickyard...they need SMTHN to draw interest to that race...

They do? I mean, yes, they always need something to draw fans, but the crowds for the 500 have been very good for the last several years. The type of racing they had with the DW12 helped stimulate a lot of interest in the 500 that had been diminished by the split.

Who would attract more fans if it was announced that they were returning to run the 500 again: Tony Stewart or Fernando Alonso?

I think the 500 will be just fine without either, but the more the merrier so I’d like to see them both there! And hey Chip, throw Larson in a car while we’re at it!!

Locally I would think TS, nationally probably a wash. World wide it would have to be Fred.

My attempts at sentence structure and periods maybe wasn't the best...Bill Elliott is racing in the 2nd tier NASCAR division at Road America later this month. It would be cool if a BIG name driver (like Tony) ran in the same division at IMS; next month. That race has prolly NEVER had anything considered too good for ratings or attendance, altho last year (while somewhat "contrived") had a LOT of passes & action...

if/when, Tony would sure need to diet for a while before May

I believe his entry would sell tickets.
(who knows, I might even go myself and I wouldn't trade one Sunday night sprint car race at Kokomo for two Indy 500s !!) GYATK

I'd like to see him go for it. I think it would be good for the 500. And I seen him up close a few weeks back and he looks to have trimmed down some already. maybe the sprint circuit has a few less meals in it.
