You have to wonder if they cant come up with a better way to make the engines tamper proof ?
There are down falls but I have to say at least here the crate engines in modifieds has helped alot. Its a great way to get started in a real race car and quite a few guys move up to the big blocks. If not for the crate class alot of those guys would be spending the same money on their cars racing a metric (4 cyl.) car.

If you make the penalty serve enough that maybe will help. In my deal it is $1000 dollar a 1 calendar year suspension if caught with an illegal engine.. If all D-2 series would go along the same path along with tracks that run them the deterant might be enough to stop it...but you MUST TECH and stand behind it....

1 engine platform, 1 builder works good for our local midget series. Tough deal.
