I first want to say I have been attending most sprintcar races there for at least 25-30 yrs. I arrived there sat. at 3pm and camped in the motorhome all night. The weather was beautiful both days and night. I got up Sunday had my family and a friend with me walked up to the ticket window and presented my ticket from the rained out USAC show earlier that year and was purchasing 3 more. My buddy bought his ticket and went in to check on our seats we saved the day before. The lady at the ticket office said my ticket was no good and could not exchange it. So after several trips back to talk to someone else I could not see and waiting a good 10 min with people in line behind breathing down my neck because cars were already hot lapping, I was asked to step to the side and talk to a man waiting for me around the corner.

He has a sheet and tries to explain why he could not exchange it. I tell him my side of it and he says to me " I'm a buisness man, what would you do in this situation". I explained to the jerk that if my ticket was not honored I would not be back as long as that promoter or owner was there. He started giving me the same speech again so I threw my arms up left the ticket and went and bought another one.A good buisness man would have honored the ticket and made the customer happy but this jerk was clueless went into the ticket office slamming the door.

The only reason I boght another ticket is because my buddy had paid and I knew they would not give him his money back or I would have just left right then. So with that said, great job Winchester management. It has nothing to do with the 20 bucks, it is the principle. Everyone that knows me will tell you I spend alot of money on racing and generally bring alot of people with me. After 25-30 years Winchester has got my last dollar so I hope the extra 20 bucks they made off me was worth it. I wish I knew who the guy I talked to so I could call him out by name. I hope the fans going there next week for the big stock car race dont get rain because they will probably get screwed like me if it does.

Had the same situation. I tried to use my ticket from April and was told no way.
I will not be back and did not even pay for today. It will be a cold day in he## when I grace the fine racetrack I used to love to go to. Now I have wasted gas to go to USAC races twice in one year. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only disappointment to me was the car count of 19(?), which quickly declined to 17 due to Kelley finding the wall and Gordon finding a spinning Chad Boat. I thought the racing was first rate with Bacon earning the win after a good battle with Windom. I was like a kid again seeing the drivers I watched for many years all in one place again; Kenyon, Rasmussen, Biglow, Rice, Greg Leffler, Masters, Jim Hines, Fedorcek, Bret Whited...and , yes, SUPERDUKE. Then there was the assortment of KK midgets, King Dirt cars, a couple of impeccably turned out Watson roadster copies and many other vintage cars.

Had yet another meetup with IOW.com buddies John Hoover, Danny Burton, Keith "Itsanonwingthing" Wendell, Ed and Karen Kempf, Spridge, a round trip ride with bench racing and Reds talk included with Fishburger. Had a first time meeting with a busy "Honest Sam" Brooks, who made a very good first impression with me. :thumb Also pleased to see current drivers roaming the pits like Kyle Robbins and Hunter Sheurenburg, who seems to have shrugged off the "racing rhumetism" very well. To be young again. Talked also with Kevin Besecker and Dakota Armstrong, who were in good spirits. Wanted to talk with the loquatious Mac Miller but he was busy talking shop with another fabricatior/restorer. Catch you next year, Mac. Last but not least Pat Sullivan who is wealth of knowledge regarding racing history and a joy to listen to.

I had a good time.

I also went, this was my eleventh USAC sprint car race of the season. I thought the feature went off very well with excellent driving and entertaining as the top four were all going after it.

There was typical too much screwing around from USAC. While I enjoyed seeing all the old cars (more than I had ever seen at Winchester) they ran too long and then they screwed around getting them all back outside.

Im amazed at the story of the non-refundable tickets  All I can say is WOW and I hope you guys can find some justification for staying fans

ps - I think calling a couple of these guys legends is a STRETCH

Hey Gregg, I looked for you a couple of times yesterday, but as I get older my mind freeezes up even on a warm day like yesterday. I couldn't recall when and where you said you were going to be but I looked around for somebody that looks like a Gregg (like me?). Sorry I missed everybody. I had my elderly dad (my best racing buddy) with me yesterday, and I don't like to him to be in the bleachers by himself too much. So I didn't wander away from him too often. Any way they were short on cars, but long on action and excitement. Bacon was on a rail yesterday.

P.S. Kudos to Dr. Pat on the mike yesterday. Yet another job well done. You make it better by being there.

I presented 3 rain checks from the april usac show. one adult and 2 children rain checks. the lady at the window told me that the adult one or that one was no good and then gave me 2 adult tickets for the children tickets? i had my wallet out but she didn't ask me for any money. I did use the other adult ticket i had for the thursday night usac show and they honored it and gave me $5 back. if that were the only show the rain checks were good for they should have advertised it.
