Another State Fair Speedway closes as the CEO of the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines suspends all racing at the facility. Apparently the race track doesn't bring in enough revenue to justify it's existence in the mind of this CEO and the board of directors even though they have a multi-year contract with promoter Tony Moro. This same CEO promised as recently as last year that racing would continue there for years to come. Lying rich bastards. Enjoy your State Fair races while you have them, they seem to be disappearing fast.

When Flemington Fairgrounds Speedway closed it broke my heart.
For me there is no other racing that comes close to a fairgrounds race all things being equal.

Penn National was the one that got me bad. I used to drive past Susquehanna on Sundays night to go there. Still the best Dirt Mod racing I've ever seen.
