I am going to give a shout out to "The Snake". He did a little NASCAR pit road coverage back in the late 80s after he retired from the NFL. I want to say on TBS. Granted, not open wheel, but we are all bound together by motorsports, and he was part of the culture and made contributions as we review our lineage that got us where we are now.

Yeah, he was one of those quarterbacks that wasn't necessarily the most talented one to ever play, but he almost always made big plays in big moments and was a hell of a leader. A leader on a team that featured one of the most interesting cast of characters, maybe ever.

dan pasterini also got into racing. he did so during his nfl career. almost cost him his job.
