more response for DAD (I like your avatar by the way)
the advertised power #'s are "engine" baseline and are very consistant
they are based off of a 650 carburetor with a non oxygenated gasoline and a very basic header
common racing fuels and upgraded components can bump them numbers 10 to 12 percent but that is about the top
question of cost difference 602 VS 604
the base engine cost is just over $2200 more for the 604
the main component difference is the ignition
the 602 engine comes from GM with an HEI distributor and keeping with the theme of the entry level "budget" package, we have utilized that distributor.
the 604 engine come with NO distributor from GM so we elected to use a magneto to stay with traditional sprint car accessories eliminating any need for a battery
other ignition forms are applicable for either engine but this is what we decided on for our package engines.
hope that helps a bit
as ever

The original concept was for this division to be a stepping stone for those racing mini and micro sprints for about the same cost.
What has been surprising is the interest from street stock and modified drivers as well as older former drivers that still want to race on a budget.

Would be cool to see this concept actually gain some traction and watch the interest grow.
Crate Late Models are big in some areas down south there's nothing that says that couldn't happen to sprint cars here.
The biggest problem with Crate Late Models is the tech.
If those cars are tech properly this might would depending on the interest it generates from being able to race a Non-Wing Sprint Car on a supposed budget.
Good luck to those involved in trying to make this work and giving folks on a budget a chance at racing sprints.
2025 Season - TBA

Nathan,
The difference between the 602 program that most tracks and soon possibly a sanctioning body is that a new engine is less than $3,500 dollars.
Because of this engine rebuilds will not be allowed like the 604 programs. There will be approved minor repairs at certified repair locations.

How much will this class pay? With all the engine combinations I've ran the cost to race every night was still pretty much the same.
