WEATHER FORCES COMPLETE GOLD CROWN MIDGET CANCELLATION FOR THE WEEKEND!

Granite City, IL........The 6th "Gold Crown Midget Nationals" has fallen to the elements as continuing rain, wet grounds and predicted low temperatures in the St. Louis area have conspired to force cancellation of the remaining two nights of the Honda USAC National Midget race weekend at Tri-City Speedway.

The Honda USAC National Midget series resumes November 20-21-22 at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz.

Tough break was planning on coming. Try again next year. One my favorite events of the year.

Bummer. Arrived back home about 2 hours ago. Mother nature has not been kind to the Gold Crown. Thanks for not giving up on this event. Midget racing sure is fun to watch on that track. We'll be back again next year.

Bummer. Just arrived back home about 2 hours ago. Mother nature has not always been kind to the Gold Crown but, when the races are run, they sure are fun to watch! Don't give up on this event. We'll be back next year. sorry, double post.

I feel bad for Tri-city, but I do hope that they continue with these great show. It is one of the shows that I always put on my race calendar.

We were disappointed as well, but with the amount of rain that fell Thursday,it wasn't a total surprise,we went by the track that evening and I told my Wife it doesn't look good.At least we didn't drive from New Jersey like a couple of guys did that I talked to this morning.

That area was getting rain again late this afternoon. I agree with all those who are looking forward to it next year. This is not just great racing, it is an event. Not too many of those.
