Less than a month away from Atomic's Open Wheel Championships. What Non-Wing drivers can we see show up? Looking forward to it!

Considering any teams who decide to compete will need to be at the track for 3 days, in order to receive 1 payout, I'm thinking the field will not be a large one, unfortunately.

Here's the schedule from http://www.atomicspeedway.net/

3 DAY OPEN WHEEL CHAMPIONSHIPS:
Sprints, Non Wing Sprints Unsanctioned with Modifieds

October 23- Sprint Practice, Non Wing Qualifing & Heats, Modified Qualifying & Heats

October 24- Sprint Qualifying & Heats, Non Wing B-Mains, Modified B-Mains

October 25- Sprint B-Mains & Feature $15,000 TO WIN, Non Wing Feature $5,000 TO WIN, Modified Feature $3,000 TO WIN

Personally, I think this should be no more than a 2-day show. If they can only pull off 4 races on Saturday, it'll likely be a long day/night of waiting around.

(I also find it comical that they refer to the classes as Sprints, and Non Wing Sprints... shouldn't it be vice-versa? )

Well if you qualify for the feature on Thurs, You don't have to be there Friday But then its two trips and the same all weekend pit pass. A, You'll either need a hotel or a camper with heat.

5 G is a pretty big purse for NW in OH, Maybe the biggest next to BOSS Fremont Spring race and USAC's two Eldora visits and the Hewitt at Waynesfield which I think was 3500 with some bonus's and contengincies.

Considering there isn't a darn thing else running, I figure they'll have a good field of cars of whats left running, Last fall they started these shows early, Like hotlaps at 4pm. I went to one of their last sprint shows and it was done at 830

I get what your saying and Im in agreement, Two day show at most. I use to hate going to Funfest and to see everyone race, You had to go all three days. So glad they changed that to Full shows each night for different classes.

Somebody probably racked their brain out coming up with this schedule. Qualify everybody and run heats Friday with the B's and A's on Sat. And the winged guys need a "practice" night? I kind've doubt it. Maybe a huge car count is expected and the track shouldn't get used up spreading things out. I wish them luck and hope it goes well. I was thinking Short Track Nationals that weekend but this is a closer track that I've never been to so the Weatherman may decide this one for me.

It's great its paying $5K to win. But how's the rest of the payout? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thank you. That is an impressive payout. Nice to see a show that doesn't pay $5K to win and $1K for 2nd. Looks like I need to find a ride for this one. I'd take a wing ride too by the way.

Great payout! That's gotta be close to a USAC purse. And it says "NO ENTRY FEE".
