I was just curious if anybody knows the purse structure of the Chili Bowl? I have tried to find it on the internet, but to no avail. Any info would be appreciated.
Nobody knows what it pays out.....they have huge expenses.....but do a little simple math on 5 days with 300 teams and the numbers are huge....just sayin
9th in the J makes $100.00 ask me how I know!
Boys you're beating a dead horse
As long as the stands are full, the pits are full adding 280+ competitors they could give a flip about your thoughts on them not advertising purses
Last one I seen was a couple years old and it was
10g to win
800 to start.
There was lap money but that was raised by sponsors and fans.
Its all about the Driller and coming out on top of nearly 300 competitors. Its a EVENT now and adding or lowering the purse, probably wouldn't change a thing, However bumping the back some might help some for next year.
I find it rather strange that everyone uses the excuse that the reason we don't see more midget racing during the actual racing season is, because it is too expensive to run them/ yet 300 plus owners put out up to $75,000.00 to run a car once per year for next to nothing in return if they don't make the big dance and for a mere 10g's if they win the big feach (in my book a 10g return on a 75g investment does not make much sense). seems to me if they brought them out and tried to build up a following that they'd stand a chance of earning their investment back, something they'll never do running them once per year and then put'n them in mothballs!
and I must add, there is plenty of incredible driver talent available in Indiana alone!
