Good to see a former open wheel guy, Ryan Newman, win the Brickyard 400 in his home state of Indiana. His father, Greg, who started him in midgets, was in tears after the race. This will go a long way in helping Ryan find a ride for next year.
What a great win for an open wheel racer. There were 12 other open wheel racers and Indy Car racers on the track today. That alone makes the NASCAR races worth watching. It is no wonder that Greg Newman was in tears after this win by his son. To be an Indiana guy racing at the most famous race track in the world and winning has to be the ultimate highlight of your racing career. Just ask Tony Stewart.
