Why did the AMSA and Gas City schedule a race July 12th when the MMSA already had a race scheduled at Montpelier for the same night? Seems like a very poor decision to have 2 mini-sprint races competing for cars at 2 tracks less than 30 minutes apart. Wouldn't it have made more sense to race the mini-sprints on Friday night at Gas City instead of Saturday?

I don't think this is a new date for the AMSA. These two dates with USAC during Indiana Sprint Weeks have been on their schedule since the very beginning of the year.

This is a great oppourtunity for the mini-sprints to be showcased with the best of the best from USAC. Another huge plus is that the Mini's don't destroy a track, so they make for a great support class. The AMSA is the breeding grounds for the future of sprint car drivers.
Thanks and thanks to the AMSA what a great organization.

doubtful if it will have much of an effect on either. those that run with the AMSA will go to gas city and MMSA guys will go to montpelier. MMSA might pull a few over with the double purse though.

When I first started to work and drive sprint cars it was with Mini-sprints. We were with the Oklahoma Outlaw Mini-Sprint Association. If fact I have a crew chief championship with this group and I was only 21 when I got it. I learned alot about myself and about life being with these cars. If anyone has any back issues of open wheel there is an article about one of out national events. I would give anything to be back running mini-sprints but here in Oklahoma they went by the waste side because of the big sprints.

Since we cant meet in the middle on these scheldules we should atleast have one race on common ground, maybe have a shoot out format between the two series.. We should do it at a track that doesnt usually race these cars such as Bloomington, that would proababley get these cars more exposure than anything...
Besides if the two could meet at one place there would be 40+ car count....

Why don't they run The Mini Sprints all four nights.
Last year with the Mini Sprints the show was over by a little after 10:00.
The next night with the Mods it did not get over till almost 11:00.
You would think that since USAC is wanting to run efficient shows that they would lobby for The Mini Sprints.
