Wow what can you say, when we pulled in the track was watered and ready to go then came the rain. First a sprinkle or two then a pretty steady rain for close to an hour, with the sky clearing a little the track let us know they were going forward and would try to get the race in before the next round of rain came.

The track was smooth and very fast, moving the show along they called for the feature line up and pushed the cars off keeping in mind that the rain was just outside the track, they knew the feature was not going to happen but pushed for the missing man deal to honor Josh his family and friends.

There main goal was to put on a good show and when they seen that it was not going to happen they made sure to show honor and respect to a fallen driver then call it a night.

The rains came fast and steady, as the cars pulled off the track knowing we were done all we could think of was how commited the O'Connors are to the racing world.

I will tell you from where we stood they did everything possible to get the show in, nobody could have done a better job.
Thank you goes out to the fans that stayed even with rain all night and a huge thank you to all the staff at the Kokomo Speedway.

Josh went to the crash house to check on A.J. he is pretty beat up and was going to have another doctor check his chest a little closer, more than likely headed home tonight, sore and pretty beat up but after the ride he took I would be shocked if nothing was wrong.

Again get well A.J. stay strong Burton family and thank you to the Kokomo Speedway and all the fans that make this deal happen week after week.

Tell josh I said thank you so much for going to the car after it flipped, it really means alot, Aj is fine, he's home now and has a little blood in his lungs, the 42 is destroyed, and you won't be seeing the 42 at the track anymore, it's time we retired it, the roll cage did its job and kept Aj safe, like I said thank you guys so much, I hope the 66 does good the rest of the season, you guys have been running amazing the past couple weeks, it's hard ending a career this way but aj will be in his car at putnamville, much respect goes to the 66 team, keep the coil car alive!

No doubt Tom Chalk built a very strong race car, Chalk Chassis is the best around I.M.O.

Sorry to see the 42 go into retirement as you have fielded a strong car for many years, we knew this was your last year and to rebuild for a couple months would take a lot of money. You gave guys a chance to race and actually paid them to do it, not many of them kinda rides left.

Good to know A.J. is home, when the car cleared the fence Josh took off running and next thing we know he was next to A.J.helping him to get his bearings, just a case of one friend helping another friend.

As far as the car clearing the fence I think we still hold the record as the #5 driven by John Mapes went to the grainery and thru the double doors, a record neither one of us want to hold.

We will try and keep the coil up front and for as long as we race Josh will be in a Chalk if at all possible.
