All systems are a go for tonight’s Midwest TQ Racing League event at the Shelby County Fairgrounds featuring the MTQRL three-quarter midgets and sidewinders.
League officials have spoken with the Shelby County Fair Board and there has not been any rainfall at the fairgrounds today. In checking the radar and forecast Fair Board officials are confident that a negligible amount of precipitation is heading to the Shelbyville area and will have no adverse effects on track conditions. In fact, the fair board has begun watering the track in anticipation of tonight’s racing events.
The pit gate will open at 4:00 pm and the grandstands at 5:00 pm. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 5:30 pm followed by practice at 6:00 pm, qualifications at 6:30 pm and racing at 7:30 pm.
Additional events at the fairgrounds are still going on as planned including a flea market, beer tent, food and ice cream trailers, and fireworks at dusk.
We hope everyone can make it out to the Shelby County Fairgrounds tonight for an enjoyable evening of racing and fireworks.
Tate Martz had a problem in the trophy dash which would make him a no show in his heat. The result, he lost his time and had to start 19th in the feature.
The feature was spent watching Martz slice through the field. A few laps from the end he passed Brett Hankins for the lead. Hankins was the man to beat the entire night. If this race didn't do it for you check your pulse.
