BLONDE GETS ON TRACK TO WIN MUST SEE RACING 60
Anderson, IN - May 23, 2012 - Jason Blonde got a break on lap 27 and never looked back as he won his first TRUFUEL Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series win of the year Wednesday night at Anderson Speedway. Blonde was driving the Suellen Wilshe owned BIOBASED.US Hurricane chassis car. Blonde was the fourth different winner in as many events in 2012 MSRXSS compettition.
The evening began in exciting fashion as California driver Jo Jo Helberg established a new track record with a lap of 10.168 seconds. This was a remarkable feat considering the excess heat and high humidity. Heat wins went to Tom Tolbert, Jimmy McCune, and Travis Miniea.
The front row of the 60 lap feature found BIOBASED.US teammates Jason Blonde and Tanner Swanson sharing the front row. Tanner Swanson got the jump at the start and lead the opening 27 laps. Blonde was all over Swanson in the early laps as Swanson was slowed by lapped traffic. Swanson gave way to Blonde on lap 27 when he was sidelined with apparent mechanical issues. Blonde then led the remainder of the event to capture his first MSRXSS victory of the season. Following Blonde was Kody Swanson, Troy DeCaire, Jo Jo Helberg, and Ryan Gillenwater rounding out the top five.
" I was able to catch Tanner in lapped traffic " explained Blonde in victory lane. " I got beside him and he pulled me. I wasn't sure if I could've gotten around him if he hadn't broke. I saw something going wrong with his right rear tire. After that I knew I could get the lead. Then I was waiting for something bad to go wrong with my tire. Its a good win for the BIOBASED #23 car ".Blonde explained how important the win was for his after getting off to a rough 2012 start. " Its been a tough way to start the year with three DNF's. It makes you wonder why you do it sometimes. As soon as you get that win, you know why your doing it ".
A dejected Swanson explained why he was forced out of the race on lap 27." We had a radius rod bolt back out of the right rear bird cage. Its disappointing. We had a really great car. I was rolling around saving my tires, picking off lapped cars as they came to me. I had the car to pick up my second Must See win ".
Must See Racing now will put its focus on the 64th annual Pay Less Little 500 Saturday night. Must See Racing is the sanctioning body of the Little 500. The event will be a special non-points event. Several MSRXSS teams are entered in the event.
